As we know, Xiaomi has created a very solid empire that has been gaining the trust and preference of consumers over time. It is currently one of the best brands on the market, especially with regard to smartphones.
Now, and at once, the manufacturer has registered the patent for 7 different foldable smartphones for this year 2021.
The year started well for Xiaomi, which, still at the end of 2020, presented its new top of the range Mi 11 to the world. This equipment was long awaited by users, since it is the first to come out already equipped with the new Snapdragon processor Qualcomm 888.
According to the data, this model sold 350 thousand units in just 5 minutes. In addition, tests show that it beats Apple's iPhone 12 Pro Max at Wi-Fi speed.
But the Chinese brand seems to have a lot of cards up its sleeve for this year that starts… starting with the folding ones.
Xiaomi registers 7 surplus smartphone patents for 2021
Xiaomi seems to be starting the year with all its strength and motivation. According to the Dutch website LetsGoDigital, the manufacturer registered 7 folding patents with the China Patent and Trademark Office, which describe the main characteristics of these models.
Of the 7 models, three of them have a shell design, such as the Galaxy Z Flip and Moto Razr 5G. The rest have a tablet-like format, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Of the cup-shaped collapsible, two of them have a screen without notch or perforation for the front camera. One has a sensor on the rear and the other has a set of four cameras. Everything indicates that these sensors are then prepared for high quality photographs and also for selfies.
There is also a kind of second display in the upper zone, probably for displaying alerts and notifications. This way, the user will not need to open the equipment to find out what is going on.
Another model is one of the most similar to the Razr 5G. It has front and rear cameras and a second display relatively larger compared to Motorola.
As for the patents in tablet format, they are practically all similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 2. They have a screen that occupies the entire structure of the equipment, but a characteristic Xiaomi touch.
Two of the models feature “Surround Display” technology, the same as that of the Mi Mix Alpha, in which the screen extends to the rear. One of the models has a set of four cameras and the other has a single Super Camera IA.
In this way, other patents already put aside the “Surround Display” technology and bet on a secondary screen, perhaps for notifications. Four rear chambers are also described.
But even if you were motivated by this news, we remind you that the simple fact that a brand registers a patent does not mean that this product is produced and launched. However, it does give us an idea of the projects and possible future equipment of a certain brand.
