The evolution of technology continues and today we know that the present / future passes through mobile devices. However, these devices still cannot fully replace Desktops. What if we join a smartphone with a PC?
The idea already exists and the project too! Let’s get to know the GPD Win 3 project.
It was through a platform Indiegogo funding that the idea of adding a smartphone to a PC came up. The project is called GPD Win 3 and looks like a mini console, with Windows 10 as its operating system and a set of interesting features.
This little gadget comes with an 11th generation Intel Core i5 SoC, but there is also a version with an Intel Core i7 SoC. It has 16GB of LPDDR4 RAM and brings a 1TB PCIe 3.0 SSD. The GPU is an Intel Xe.
In addition to the equipment itself, there is also a dock that offers several types of interfaces: USB Type C, HDMI, USB and RJ45. In practice, this dock has:
- 3 USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, all 10Gbps;
- 1 USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C 10Gbps;
- 1 HDMI 2.0b with up to 18 Gbps bandwidth up to 32 channels, 48bits and HDR support.
- 1 RJ45 network port, 10 / 1000Mbps network card.
The equipment can be connected to a monitor via HDMI, working in the same way as the Nintendo Switch. On the Indiegogo website we can find some recordings of gameplays from triple-A games such as Devil May Cry 5, Death Stranding and Red Dead Redemption 2.
