Gradually the brands in the automotive segment are focusing only on the electric segment (and well). As we have seen, the offer in the electric market has grown a lot and there are vehicles for all budgets.
Remember the Citroën Ami, a 100% electric car that costs 6 900 euros or 20 euros a month? Toyota launched a competitor, only it costs twice as much.
Toyota C + Pod can serve with power reserve unit
Although the Volkswagen official considers that Apple is more threatening than Toyota, the truth is that the Japanese brand already has a long history and success in the car market.
The most recent novelty is called Toyota C + Pod. This “Papa-Reformas” will be an alternative to Citroën Ami and Yoyo. The new vehicle of the Japanese brand, in terms of dimensions is 2.49 m long, 1.29 m wide and 1.55 m high. Designed for urban centers, Toyota's small electric combines a 9.2 kW and 56 Nm engine integrated into the rear axle with a 9.06 kWh lithium battery.
The maximum speed is limited to 60 km / h, and the range can reach 150 km in the WLTC cycle. Consumption will be around 5.4 kWh / 100 km. The small car is only 2 seats, but has a nice suitcase.
The vehicle can be recharged in a standard outlet and also has an external power supply. With up to 1.5 kW and 100 volts, equivalent to the Japanese electrical standard, this vehicle can even power certain accessories or serve as a backup unit in the event of a power failure.
The interior design is simplistic, even in the style of the Japanese brand, which usually bets on the quality and strength of the materials.
For now the Toyota C + Pod will only be launched in Japan for 1,650,000 yen, which is equivalent to around 13,000 euros.
