The streaming war is increasingly fierce, considering the new players entering this market. Although Netflix is considered the most popular brand, the fight for the largest number of subscribers is also contested with platforms like Amazon Prime or HBO Max. The latter has a new asset up its sleeve to draw the attention of fans of television classics: “The Sex and the City ”will return.
HBO Max confirmed that the series that tells the story of a group of friends in New York will have new episodes, 17 years after the last season aired. However, only three of the main characters are guaranteed: Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte, played respectively by Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, will return, but the same cannot be said of Samantha, whom Kim Cattrall gave body to.
“And Just Like That” is the motto for the return of “Sex and the City”, according to CNN, adding that a set of 10 episodes is planned. Viewers will have the opportunity to follow a new stage of the protagonists, this time in their 50s.
Filming is due to start in New York next spring, but there is still no date set for the release of the new episodes on HBO Max.
