A few days ago, I presented (via The Game Times) a list of the most downloaded mobile games of 2020. In that list, we had the powerful Free Fire in the first position and, proving that Battle Royale is still very successful on mobile phones, we also had PUBG Mobile in fourth position.

Now, a new list has been released by the company Sensor Tower, to list the games that earned the most revenue in 2020. And yes, once again, the Battle Royale genre shone. However, in this case, the first position was with PUBG Mobile … let’s go to the details of that list?

Mobile games that collected the most in 2020

As we all know, the year 2020 was marked by issues related to COVID-19 and the consequent social isolation. The situation has caused many people to bet on the world of games to ease tensions. And yes, several segments, such as mobile games, ended up benefiting.

To prove this, we have a new list released by the company Sensor Tower, which listed the main titles from last year, according to the amounts collected. As it should be, the numbers are frightening. Here is the ranking:

According to data from Sensor Tower, PUBG reached the first position, as its results also consider the values recorded by the game Game For Peace, which is the Chinese version of the title. In this case, the total raised amounts to $ 2.6 billion.

It is also worth noting that Arena of Valor (Honor of Kings, in China) was the other game that surpassed the $ 2 billion mark and, therefore, reached the second place. In third position, Pokémon GO posted a result of $ 1.2 billion.

In short, the mobile gaming segment has proven, once again, that it is a force to be reckoned with. With regard to PUBG Mobile, the success is more than justified, since this version managed to become more attractive than the original game, officially launched for PC in 2017. Anyway, cell phone games do not stop growing. To the next…
