In 2018, when NieR: Automata had already conquered a legion of followers and left everyone intrigued by its complexity, Yoko Taro, director of the game, revealed that there was still a secret to be discovered in the adventure. And that, of course, motivated some people to start their searches.
Hence, in the beginning of 2021, almost four years after the title was launched, the modder Lance McDonald finally discovered the infamous secret and everything was confirmed on social networks, by the people responsible for the game… will we understand this story better?
The ultimate secret of NieR: Automata
Anyone who has played the incredible NieR: Automata knows very well that the title is extremely well built and has an above average complexity. No wonder, with some specific actions, the outcome of the story can be drastically altered.
And it was just one of those “tricks” that was discovered by Lance McDonald. According to the modder, the game’s last secret was discovered after performing a reverse engineering process, which resulted in the discovery of a secret code that takes players to the final ending, right after the first game boss. Check out the video above (watch out for spoilers).
After the story gained momentum on social media, the game’s official profile on Twitter confirmed that this was indeed the last secret of the title, that is, the one that Yoko Taro had mentioned in 2018.
Anyway, the discovery only proves, once again, that Nier: Automata is one of the best and most brilliant games ever created. So, if you haven’t tried it yet, I suggest you embark on this adventure. To the next…
