If you come across a Google car over the next few years, don’t be surprised. The technology will continue to update Street View maps, in an action that will cover several places in Portugal, from North to South, passing through the islands, until June next year.
“Google will proceed to collect 360º images in multiple Portuguese cities and roads in mainland Portugal as well as in the Azores and Madeira archipelagos to renew pre-existing images or to photograph regions or tourist places not yet covered in previous collections”, explains the company in a statement.
It is recalled that Street View is a feature of Google Maps that is available in more than 80 countries. This tool can also be found on Google Earth and Google Maps for mobile devices.
It allows you to get to know a certain place better through panoramic images, traveling to a certain destination without leaving home, in a kind of virtual visit. According to Google, everyone’s privacy is guaranteed since people’s faces and car registrations are blurred.
Still, even after the images are published, any user can “report a problem” and request removal or signal an error.
