TCL announced NXTPAPER. It is an 8-inch tablet that the company says is “an artistic combination of paper and screen”. The equipment was unveiled at CES 2021.
The tablet incorporates a display without backlight that contributes to the autonomy of the equipment and provides a reading experience similar to that of electronic ink screens. The technology explains that the screen benefits from a reflective design that allows it to reuse natural light for lighting. TCL stresses that, in this way, the screen can be 65% more efficient than a traditional display, without, therefore, failing in the contrast section, which in this case is superior to that achieved by an electronic ink device.
The TCL NXTPAPER also has an 8 MP camera, as well as a 5 MP front camera. The battery is 5,500 mAh and the company says it is sufficient for a full day of use.
Both 4G and Wi-Fi are guaranteed and the tablet will have an Android 10 operating system, as well as support for Google Assistant. Note also the presence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a portable reading lamp, which will be included in the box.
Regarding the dimensions, it should be noted that the NXTPAPER is a device with a thickness of 7.4 mm and a weight of 316 grams.
According to TCL, this equipment will hit stores in April this month and will have a price of 349 euros.
