The fourth day of bids in the first phase of the 5G auction, reserved for operators that do not yet have a presence in the Portuguese mobile market, reached 74.52 million euros.
Anacom says that today six rounds took place. The value of lots in the 1800 MHz band has almost quadrupled compared to the initial price of 4 million euros. In all, three lots were tendered for 14.84 million euros, totaling 42.52 million euros. In the 900 MHz band, a lot was bid for 30 million euros, the same amount since the first round on 22 December.
On the first day, bids exceeded 48 million euros. In the second, the value reached 61.2 million and, just yesterday, it went beyond 67 million. On the third day of bids, which also included 6 rounds, three lots in the 1,800 MHz band were bid for 12.426 million euros, totaling 37.278 million euros.
It should be remembered that the first phase of the auction takes place before the general phase in which all interested parties participate, including MEO, NOS and Vodafone. This first bidding moment will continue as long as there is interest and bids for the lots to be tendered. After the general bidding, consignment follows, with the geographic location of the lots won, and the allocation of rights to use the licenses.
